Task: Conduct research into academic literature and the public relations field to identify best practice
criteria for managing public communication campaigns. From this research devise a framework of
best practice criteria, supported by literature and examples, to apply to public communication
campaigns within one sector of the field. You can select the sector based on your interest and it will
be either : government, not-for-profit or corporate. Your research findings will provide the basis of
best practice principles to be used in the development of assessment item 2: a public communication

Draft of assessment 1 due in week 4 for inclass informal feedback. Final assessment due week 6 in
Criteria: Scope of research;
Argumentation for selection of best practice criteria;
Integration of relevant literature into the analysis;
Explanation of the chosen sector
Quality of professional report and adherence to word limit.
There are three parts to this assignment.
Conduct an extensive review of best practice frameworks used to develop public communication
campaigns. Your research will be strongly supported by current literature (5-8 sources) and
examples of good practise in the field.
Once you have compiled a review of best practice criteria, you will select one sector in the field
and select and make a case for specific criteria to be used to provide a framework for best
practice in your chosen sector. The sector will be either; government, not-for-profit or corporate.
