The graph below show the average cost for tuition and fees at public four-year colleges from 2007 to 2015.

a) Find an equation for a line that fits the data well.

Be sure to clearly define your variables. To make your numbers be “friendly”, you might want to define your input variable like “t: years after 2000”, or some other

convenient starting year.

You may want to print out the graph and draw in that line by hand – here’s a handy printable version of the graph External link. You will need to estimate values,

since you don’t have the exact data.

b) Using your equation, predict the cost for tuition and fees at a four-year college in the year 2020.
