Please see the attached file for the general instructions for the paper. I chose the racial tract for the class. The paper will follow the progression through these time periods: realist/naturalist period, modernist period, and post-modernist period. I am supposed to use one story from the semester for each period. Use “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” for the realist/naturalist period, “How it Feels to be Colored” by Zora Neale Hurston for the modernist period, and “The Holocaust” by Elie Wiesel for the post-modernist period. As the instructions state, I am supposed to parallel the theme of racism in each of these stories to a contemporary American book or story. I have chosen “The Help” for this, but you can use something easier if you can think of one as long as it is American and contemporary. Those are the 4 primary sources that need to be used and cited. The instructions also say to find at least 3 secondary sources to use. Please read the instructions carefully. I know it is a lot and very specific, but it is easy to miss some of these things if the instructions are not read carefully. I just need the research paper, not the annotated bibliography or the proposal outline.
