Example Question:

What can you tell about the economy and society of Agade from the account of its devastation?

My Answer:

The land surrounding Agade contained many valuable resources such as various precious stones and metals. The citizens of Agade were able to use these resources to trade with other cities which led to a booming economy. There was a great number of jobs available including metalsmiths who specialized in precious metals, lapidaries (which were skilled gem workers), and smiths who worked with copper. Agade also was advanced in terms of engineering which is shown by their well designed structures, door frames, and drain pipes. The text mentions the abundance of gold, silver, and copper that Naram Sin, the ruler of Akkad, had access to which is further testimony to the cities wealth.
